Sweep Interpolation: A Fourth-Order Accurate Cost Effective Scheme in the Global Environmental Multiscale Model (GEM)

Description
This is a modified version of the dynamics module in GEM v5.2.0-a18 (Environment and Climate Change Canada's online weather prediction model GEM: Global Environmental Multi-scale). The dynamics module in this version was modified to include the Sweep interpolation method which uses backward and forward 3rd-order accurate interpolations in two consecutive time-steps. This code was used to produce the results shown in the manuscript 'Sweep interpolation: A fourth-order Accurate Cost Effective Scheme for use in Global Environmental Multiscale Model', submitted to Geoscientific Model Development (GMD) in June 2023. The GEM model is available to download from: https://github.com/ECCC-ASTD-MRD/gem/.
