Description
Examples of these differences are examples of quality and patient protection courses included in the undergraduate curricula of foundation and state universities in Turkey that provide language and speech therapy education. The descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted between April and May 2023. 30 language and therapy speaking undergraduate programs affiliated to state and foundation universities in Turkey constituted the study room. The evaluation formula created by the researchers was used as a data collection tool. The data were collected by scanning the course contents from the web pages of speech and language therapy undergraduate programs. Data were analyzed using tiers (number and percentage) statistics. In the study, it was determined that at least one of the quality or patient safety courses was in 50% of the language and speech therapy undergraduate programs of universities. Curriculum collection is mostly the place where ‘Occupational Health and Safety’ and ‘Disaster, Crisis and Risk Management’ courses are taught. Complementing speech and language therapy undergraduate curricula where there is a course on quality or patient safety, but quality-related courses are covered more than patient safety courses. Communication, which has an important place in acting with team consciousness, is also taught as a course in universities at a high rate. It is aimed that the delivery of health services will be more effective and efficient if the students who will graduate are more focused on patient safety and quality in their education programs and more systems are provided in the lessons.
