Description

Guyalna cuta (Walker, 1850)

Cicada cuta Walker 1850: 139 (type material examined).

Cicada lucastia Walker 1850: 140 (type material examined).

Type locality. The type specimen was described from an unknown locality.

Remarks. The species has been reported from Argentina, Brazil, and French Guiana (Metcalf 1963a; Sanborn 2011b; Sanborn et al. 2011a). We collected specimens in Catamarca, Salta, and Tucumán Provinces. The species was collected in the Yunga, Paranense, Chaco, and Espinal floristic provinces (Sanborn et al. 2011a).
