புறநானூற்றில் மானுட அறங்கள்

Tamil Literature is created with the four virtues;  Aram (virtue), Porul (material wealth), Inbam (pleasure), and Viduperu (Attainment) as objectives. 'Virtue' is the essence of man. The purpose of writing literature is human welfare. Although Tamil literature has been created in various forms since its inception, humanism prevails in them. Ancient Tamil sages did not extol virtue as a principle or doctrine. They extolled virtue as a way of life lived. In fact, how to build such a virtuous life has been elaborated in “Purananooru” which is known as one of the best works of Sangam literature. They are a source of our Tamil civilization. The purpose of this article is to study human virtues in “Purananooru”.
