Bar lengths in different large scale structure environments
Description
The aim of this study is to investigate whether there exists a correlation between the bar length and the cosmic environment.
To compare two distributions of barred spiral galaxies in two distinct environments,we use the galaxy sample
selected from Galaxy Zoo 2 and identify within those galaxies inhabiting voids, by cross-matching it with the sample of the CalarAlto Void Integral-field Treasury surveY (CAVITY) project.
The results obtained indicate that galaxies that reside in the less dense regions of the Universe have a higher probability of having shorter bars.
