THE UNDERTAKING OF INTERNATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY DURING ARMED CONFLICTS

Creators

Description

Limiting the effects of military or civil conflicts has been a permanent concern of society, given that for a long-time wars were considered a legitimate instrument of the states for the settlement of their own interests. The undertaking of international responsibility is a priority for the maintenance of peace and security worldwide, given that each state must preserve its sovereignty, but without acting in an absolute freedom that would limit that of other global actors. Ensuring compliance with international humanitarian norms can also be achieved through the application of coercive measures by states, individually or collectively.
