Description
Version 04 (18 Dec. 2024):
Thanks to Museum work done by Yvan Brugerolles and Vincent Leclercq,
173 specimens from MHNL and MHNM had their identification checked.
and 387 specimens were added to the original data set, now totaling 7910 data.
All these specimens now have an identificationVerificationStatus column set at 1.
Some place names mentionned in the René Grilat (b. 21 oct 1850 ; d. 31 july 1914) collection could be localised, thanks to Berland (1926) :
Lyon C. = vallon de la Cadette, La Pape (Ain), [now in Rilleux-la-Pape (45.8099 N , 4.9017 E)]
Lyon D. = Décines (Isère), à l'est de Lyon, [now Décines-Charpieu (45.7716 N , 4.9582 E)]
Lyon M. = Montessus, en amont de Lyon, sur les côteaux du Rhône, [most probably a misprint for Montessuy (45.8049 N, 4.8310 E), as localities named "Montessus" are known in the Loire and Isère valleys, but none in the Rhône valley]
Berland, L., 1926. Notes sur les Hyménoptères fouillseurs de France. XII. Quelques mots sur Grilat, entomologiste lyonnais, et ses récoltes d’Hyménoptères. Annales de La Société Entomologique de France 95, 177–178.
Collection dates were inferred from collection history for specimens with missing data :
René Grilat (1836-1914) : 1870/1914 [2216 missing data, most often he indicated day and month but not year]
Claudius Côte (1881-1956) : 1875/1920 [232 missing data, he did not collect much himself, but employed collectors.]
Nicolas Bermante : 1990/1999 [one missing datum ; I indicated the years when he collected)
Guy Chavanon (b 1951): 1971/2004 [51 missing data; 2004 is the date of the donation of the collection to the Museum]
Pierre Réal (1922-2009) : 1962/2000 [6 missing data]
Robert Gonon (1908-1994) : 1960/1994 [7 missing data]
Georges Audras (1881-1970) : 1901/1970 [730 missing data]
Version 03 (1 Dec. 2023):
108 specimens from MHNL were checked and reidentified by Yvan Brugerolles.
16 specimens were added.
All data from box MHNL468350 are now considered as recently checked, with an identificationVerificationStatus column set at 1.
A caste column was added to account for cast data in Hymenoptera.
Version 02 (6 July 2023) :
Some geographical coordinates were corrected thanks to Estelle Dumas.
New checked identifications were provided by Vincent Leclercq for Eucera and Anthophora specimens in MHNM.
