BEHAVIOUR OF FULL-SCALE SHEAR CRITICAL BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH TEXTILE REINFORCED MORTAR (TRM)

  • 1. NED University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan

Description

Textile reinforced mortars (TRM) has been a recent choice for the strengthening Reinforced Concrete
(RC) beam with fibres being used. The use of various fibres is evident in the literature for beams Very
little data for the use of basalt fibres in strengthening of flexural elements was found available in the
literature review. This article presents an investigational study conducted on full-scale beams tested
inside the critical region in shear, where three control beams and three corresponding strengthened
beams for various a/d ratios are tested. The outcomes depict that basalt fibre in TRM is useful in
enhancing the performance of RC beams for loads and serviceability.
