  • Phosphorylation is a 3-step process
    • Impregnation of the substrate into a mixture of urea and phosphoric acid diluted into water
    • Drying to remove most of the water
    • Curing at high temperature where the grafting takes place
    • 2 important steps: Impregnation & Curing
  • Study of 3 parameters:
    • Impregnation time 1-60s
    • Curing time 5-35min
    • Curing temperature 120-180°C
    • Pretreated samples were mechanically fibrillated and transparent foils were produced by solvent casting.
