Description
These are slides from a joint keynote lecture delivered at the Institute of Public Administration Research Conference (Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs, Leiden University), held at the Nutshuis in Den Haag, NL on 8 June 2023. The lecture approaches the topic of Open Science from two specific angles: Scholarly Publishing and Research Data Management. In doing so, we make a call to 'open up' both scholarly publishing, e.g., through the use of preprint servers, publishing and contributing to alternative modes of peer review; as well as research data management, e.g., by enabling epistemically diverse versions of openness that center domain-specific (meta)data sharing practices (Poirier et al. 2020) and, more broadly, the cultivation of 'judicious connections' (Leonelli 2023) among researchers and other concerned actors.
