The treatment of burns is one of the most pressing and challenging problems in modern clinical medicine, and due to its significant prevalence in the population it can be described as a trauma epidemic. Today, the treatment of burns and their complications remains a serious medical, social and economic problem. Almost every minute, people all over the world become victims of burns and all the health and social consequences that result from them. In the elderly burned, the severity of injury is determined not only by the extent of the burn wound, but also by additional pathologies and the age-related involution of all organs and systems. Mortality is high among burn victims over 60 years of age, and treatment is time-consuming.
