Bilingual Education: A Reflective Practice Targeting Students' Cultural and Linguistic Capital
Description
Understanding each other through a common language is of great significance in interpersonal and intercultural communication. The means of achieving this understanding are diverse. Family and school are the learning environments capable of providing reasons and opportunities, becoming a source of general human values and making it possible to integrate students into a wider community. By providing children with bilingual/multilingual education from an early age, we give them the opportunity to develop the skill of expressing their own attitudes and visions on the future and all the essential relationships between events, socio-cultural contexts etc.
