Description

Subgenus Podistra Motschulsky, 1839

Podistra Motschulsky, 1839: 78.

type species: Podistra alpina Motschulsky, 1839 (by monotypy).

Distribution. Most species of the subgenus are confined to the Greater Caucasus (15), just one is known from the Lesser Caucasus/Transcaucasia. One species also occurs in two isolated patches in Central Europe and two more are reported from the Russian Far East, Korea, north-eastern China and East Siberia (Kazantsev & Brancucci, 2007; Kazantsev, 2012; Yang & Yang, 2012).
