Fusus virgineus Grateloup

Description

Fusus virgineus? Grateloup — Mayer 1864: 71.

Discussion. Euthriofusus virgineus (Grateloup, 1833) is a large and distinctive predominantly Miocene species. Mayer’s original identification was based on a “ ein elendes Bruchsţck [a miserable fragment]” and uncertain. No further specimens have been found, and we prefer to exclude this record pending confirmation.
