Description
God calls us to walk humbly with Him. The Christian ministry is one ordained by God for a special purpose in His Kingdom (Exodus 40:12-15). The ministry as ordained by God, it is the noblest work on earth, nurture the flock, lead them to win lost souls and leads in the warfare against the devil and his host of demons (Ephesians 6:12). Christians should resist the temptation to construct a pharisaical list of do's and don’ts but rather look for biblical ethical principles to guide our decision-making (Goldingay, 2018). These can be summed up in the commandments to “love God with all our heart, soul and mind” and “to love our neighbor as ourselves” (Mt 22:37- 40). This paper discusses the principles of ministerial ethics based on Ten Commandments as written by God on stone and then recorded by Moses in the Bible’s book of Exodus (Gorman, 2009). The paper suggest that we should recognize that true Christian morality involves going beyond the mere letter of the law (Mt 5:21-22, 27-28) to the very spirit of love on which it is based (1Cor 13:4-8).
