Hyperthaema hoffmannsi Rothschild, 1909
Type locality. [Brazil], Amazonas, Ega [Tefé]; [Rondônia], San Antonio, Madeira river.
Type specimens. Described based on 1 ♁ and 2 ♀ (NHMUK; one specimen from Tefé labeled syntype).
Taxonomic references. Rothschild (1909; 1910), Hampson (1920), Watson & Goodger (1986) and Vincent & Laguerre (2014).
Material examined. Brazil, Maranhão: Carolina, Cincaró Farm, 7°13'26.74"S / 47°25' 51.45"W. Light traps, 17–22.x.2009, R.O. Souza, F. Limeira-de-Oliveira legit, 1 ♁ (CZMA); Mirador, Mirador State Park, 6°24'46.97"S / 44°28'47.03"W. Light traps, 03–07.v.2010, J.C. Silva, F. Limeira-de-Oliveira legit, 1 ♁ (CZMA).
Months records in Maranhão. May and October.
