Modern Prometheus: Comedy and Tragedy of Social Change

We are merely repeating that era with acceleration, with as little friction as possible that causes slowness. With that speed, we are inevitably heading towards new human disasters: those we have witnessed, those we will witness, and those we are hiding in the belly of our civilization, waiting for eruptions like the Toba eruption seventy thousand years ago. The tragedy and comedy will end simultaneously when social media erupts; fake news explodes with anger and violence as a mere inevitability; capitalists hurriedly hoard gold; a group of provocateurs party on the web; governments collapse and are extinguished. The comedy and tragedy reside in expensive signals, dancing in videos that generate money, and disasters lurking behind human arrogance towards morality and truth. If there had been no Titanic arrogance, perhaps we would not have to worry so much about progress. But humans with their haughtiness and arrogance towards themselves are the characters of our civilization. Like it or not, that is where we will go.
