Description
The lectotype for Philodendron imperiale Schott, a synonym of P. orantum Schott (Araceae), ‘Schott Aroideae’ No. 3620 (see arrowhead). Most of Schott’s specimens were destroyed in a fire at the end of WWII, and taxonomists use the illustrations of original material commissioned by Schott (this one done by W. Liepoldt, double arrowhead) for typification.
