Cytomegalovirus and lung cancer - a causal relationship?

Description

Background.

The relationship between human cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection and human lung cancer (LC) has been investigated.


Methods.

New statistical methods were used.


Results.

Without CMV infection, no smoking of tobacco. Without smoking of tobacco, no human lung cancer. Ergo: Without CMV infection, no human lung cancer.


Conclusion.

Within a CMV infection, the cause of human lung cancer will be found.
