Description

Stegana (Steganina) yixiang Zhang & Chen, sp. nov.

(Figs. 14C, 14D, 64)

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. (S.) yani sp. nov. in the shape of male terminalia (Figs. 63, 64), but can be distinguished from the latter by having the surstylus with numerous pubescence on outer surface (Fig. 63A); the aedeagus with numerous regular, minute, serrated processes distomedially (Fig. 63B, C); the subepandrial sclerite deeply bifurcated basally (Fig. 64F).

Description. Male: First flagellomere brownish yellow. Clypeus yellow. Mesonotum and scutellum yellow (Fig. 14C). Katepisternum brownish yellow (Fig. 14D). Halter mostly grey (Fig. 14D). Fore femur with a row of 3 thin setae on distal part of posteroventral surface. Abdominal tergites brownish yellow to brownish (Fig. 14C, D); sternites brownish, slightly wider than long. Male terminalia (Fig. 64): Epandrium with ca. 9 setae on dorsal to posterior portions per side (Fig. 64A). Surstylus lacking serrated process, with 1 peg-like tooth and some setulae near distal margin (Fig. 64A). Cercus with sparse pubescence (Fig. 64A). Hypandrium roundly expanded anteromedially (Fig. 64B, C). Pregonite blurry or absent (Fig. 64B, C). Aedeagus with numerous minute, serrated processes distolaterally (Fig. 64B, C). Aedeagal sheath distally slender, strongly dorsad curved, and with some minute, serrated processes (Fig. 64D, E).

Measurements and indices. BL = 2.47 mm in holotype, ThL = 1.40 mm, WL = 2.13 mm, WW = 1.07 mm, arb = 6/4, avd = 0.83, adf = 1.17, flw = 2.17, FW/HW = 0.40, ch/o = 0.22, prorb = 1.30, rcorb = 1.00, vb = 0.33, dcl = 0.53, presctl = 0.62, sctl = 1.31, sterno = 1.45, orbito = 2.80, dcp = 0.24, sctlp = 2.50, C = 2.00, 4c = 1.50, 4v = 1.67, 5x = 2.33, ac = 9.00, M = 1.17, C3F = 0.78.

Type material. Holotype ♂ (SCAU, No. 125634, DNA #1940), CHINA: Yixiang, Pu'er, Yunnan, 22°44'19''N, 101°07'01''E, alt. 1420m, ex tree trunk, 28.iii.2013, J.J. Gao.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. From the name of the type locality "Yixiang".
