HISTORY, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF TEA INDUSTRY IN INDIA

The tea industry in India has an ever-changing consumer taste perception and a major challenge for breeders when it comes to plant material that will satisfies a cross-section of consumers with different taste perceptions. The effects of global climate change have increased the likelihood of biotic and abiotic stress, so planting material needs to fight stress, therefore the dynamics of breeding stress-tolerant planting material need to be increased.
