Description

With the recommencement of exploration in 2017 by Bellevue Gold Limited at the historical Bellevue Gold Mine in the Agnew-Wiluna greenstone belt, a review of the historical geophysical datasets was undertaken. This included remodelling of downhole EM and the delineation of two priority target conductors. New petrophysical testing of historical core samples confirmed that gold mineralisation, spatially associated with semi-massive to massive pyrrhotite and lesser chalcopyrite, was strongly conductive and chargeable. Bellevue Gold Limited began drill testing in mid-2017 based on a new geological model and has made multiple discoveries since, including Tribune, Viago, and the Deacon DHEM discovery. Modern high-powered DHEM has become a routine exploration tool for cost-effectively targeting high-grade gold mineralisation.
