Imported from France at the beginning of the 1990s to diversify the language training offer, the Applied Foreign Languages sector has established itself as an innovative academic and vocational training. As a plausible alternative to traditional language studies and training, it has thus developed and gained its place in Senegalese academic and vocational training by broadening the areas of specialization and introducing specialized translation as a component of training.
The objective of this theoretical and practical study is, on the one hand, to review teaching and evaluation practices in the field of translation. Institutional, pedagogical, methodological and didactic proposals are also outlined to promote the harmonization of
teachers’ concepts, concepts and practices.
