Description
Genus Ranilia H. Milne Edwards, 1837
Type species. Ranilia muricata H. Milne Edwards, 1837, by monotypy [Type locality: Unknown]
Remarks. Besides its type species, the genus Ranilia is represented in the western Atlantic by a second species, R. constricta (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880). Ranilia guinotae Melo & Campos Junior, 1994, is placed here under the synonymy of R. constricta (see below).
