The sample consisted of 30 from selected areas of Gandhinagar.  The random sampling technique was used to collect the sample. In the experimental group the mean early ambulation was 6.533 with standard deviation 0.80 and in the control group was 4.866 with SD 0.718. The calculatedt value was 7.376 where as table value is 1.69 in 0.05 level which shows highly significant. So, the pre operative leg teaching was highly effective in early ambulation during the post operative phase.
