UNDP-a2i: Citizens' Awareness Survey on E-service and Service Simplification through the Digital Innovation Fair

UNDP, the Government of Bangladesh and USAID embarked on the Access to Information (a2i) program to enhance service delivery with uncommon prominence on addressing the requirements of underserved groups. Access to Information (a2i) Moto is “Service @ Doorsteps” with the vision 2021 of establishing “Digital Bangladesh”. For simplifying all the services a2i is working from 2007 to present. It’s a project of Government of Bangladesh with the support of UNDP & USAID under the Prime Minister’s Office. From that point forward, Bangladesh has indicated astounding achievement in decreasing the time, cost and boundaries in getting to taxpayer-supported organizations. To reach the services at the doorsteps of general people, Government of Bangladesh launched different service centers those publication are provided by the DIF. Different centers are playing a significant role to fulfill the vision of “Digital Bangladesh” in reality. The Digital Innovation Fair is the huge platform for knowing the services at doorsteps by way of arranging DIF program. From 2010 to till, Digital Innovation Fair is arranged by the every district authority and a2i (Access to Information) authority.
Basically, every District Commissioner and a2i authority are arranged Digital Innovation Fair in every year. 64 districts have arranged this fair for making awareness survey so that every people can access and get services without losing time and cost. A2i (Access to Information) are providing 107 services that are provided by the different centers over the every district. This study was conducted to UNDP-a2i: Citizens' Awareness Survey on E-service and Service Simplification through the Digital Innovation Fair. Digital Innovation Fair in a platform for an opportunity to get public and private services at the door steps. The study is made to access the current status of Digital Innovation Fair 2017 in the Manikganj, Pirujpur and Barisal district. The study recommends the District Commissioner for increasing their activities so that general people can easily access and get their governmental services.
