Teacher Trainees performance: The role of Background Variables

Teachers today should no longer be more disseminators of knowledge. The main tasks are to help young people to cope with increasing information mass and putting it into some order. They must know how to appraise and distinguish that which is useful to the development of individual society, not only, what is relevant at a given moment but also what is likely to be relevant in future. Thus, the teacher education program is aimed at developing in student teacher the various teaching skills, abilities, knowledge and attitudes. In order to achieve this aim whole program of teacher education includes both theoretical study on teaching learning and practice teaching.
