Peritropoides annulatus Carvalho 1955: 625 (as n. sp.); Schuh 1995: 34-35 (catalogue); Carvalho, Costa & Chérot 2001: 157–158 (description of the male based on French Guiana specimens); Gorczyca 2006: 64 (catalogue); Costa, Chérot & Carpintero 2008: 349 (citation from French Guiana); Schuh 2002 –2013 (online catalogue).
Species originally described from Colombia, known from United States (interception of holotype at the border) (Carvalho 1955) and later reported from French Guiana (Carvalho, Costa & Chérot 2001).
