Gastro entérites à rota virus chez les enfants de 0 à 59 mois à l'hôpital national de Niamey

Introduction: The gastroenteritis is an inflation of lining and stomach. The genre rotavirus of Reovirus of the family of rotaviridae constitutes the first cause of viral acute gastroenteritis in children from 3 months to 2 years old. The aim of the study was to evaluate the epidemiological monitoring of acute gastroenteritis of rotavirus to the children under 5 years in HNN. Methodology: It is a prospective and descriptive study of 8 months from February to September 2016, which concerned 84 patients. The tool of collect is composed of inquiry form, laboratory register and exam bulletin. Results: From our study, the male patients have represented 53, 33 % and the range age from 0 to 11 months was the most represented with 55,95%.The vaccinated patients were 36,91 % and the 19 % of patients were breastfeeding. The acute dehydration was found in 30, 95% and the positive Test was in 18 patients 21, 43%.It was noted that 94, 44 % of infected patients by the rotavirus were under 2years old. Conclusion: The gastroenteritis is a public health problem. Vaccination and appropriate hygienic measures permit to eradicate this flail.
