Description

This article analyzes the role of third-party funding under the European Union’s newly enacted Representative Actions Directive. The first part gives a brief overview of the collective redress developments in the European Union and the new representative action regime. The second part focuses on third-party funding in collective redress generally and discusses the provisions in the Directive specifically relevant for third-party funding.
