PAsCAL WP6 Pilot 1 High-Capacity Autonomous Bus Operations Video

A summary video documenting and introducing the activities of pilot 1 of the PAsCAL real-world pilots. The part of the pilot which is documented in the video took place at the E-Bus Competence Center in Liverange, Luxembourg between June 2021 and September 2021. The participants were subjected to a so-called "Wizard of Oz" experiment, in which a regular high-capacity bus was modified and prepared in such a way that the human driver of the bus was hidden and not visible to the passenger, who believed that the bus was fully autonomous. Several malfunctions during the bus ride were simulated to test a Human-Machine-Interface and its' adequacy to replace human driver support for passengers on-board.
