To make the project more concise, Part 2 "other data processing codes" have been deleted. 

And the newindex.ncl has been updated with more precise annotation information and concise typography.

Hello, everyone!

This code repository concludes:

1. the Rapid Intensification Warning index (RIWI) constructing;

2. other data processing codes about the Paper "A Rapid Intensification Warning Index for tropical cyclones based on the analog method" (have been deleted after version 1.0.1)

There are some introductions about these two parts:

RIWI constructing part

Now, the index is version 1.0.1, which is constructed by one variable (Maximum Surface Wind; MSW). More variables could be used to improve this index in the future.

The code is written by NCL and Bash shell.

The RIWI constructing process to one TC is described in NCL sript (newindex.ncl). And you don't need to change this script when you want to modify parameters.

All modifications could be finished by changing the shell script (newindex.sh).

And you can submit this process to your high-performance computing server, here we use the "sub.sh" as an example.

In general, the constructing process is to modify the "newindex.sh" firstly, then submit it to the server, and finally use "collect.sh" to categorize the results based on different RI definitions.

Some simple data processing and figures-producing scripts are placed in this part.

More details will be introduced if needed in the future.

Some modification is needed when you want to use all these scripts on your personal computer or server.
