Creating a Cohort for Analysis using Indiana's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Data
Description
This is a Jupyter Notebook demonstrating the concept of creating a group or a "cohort" that defines the primary population of interest in much research. For the purposes of this training program, the cohort will consist of a population of TANF recipients that exited TANF during the second quarter of 2018. Once created, cohorts may then be used to link to other data sources, such as employment data. This notebook was developed for the Summer 2022 Applied Data Analytics training facilitated by the TANF Data Collaborative and Coleridge Initiative in conjunction with Indiana’s Department of Workforce Development and Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration.
