Description

READ ME file to be used along with data files in Zenodo for the manuscript:

Significance of Secondary Fe-Oxide and Fe-Sulfide Minerals in Upper Peak Ring Suevite from the Chicxulub Impact Structure

Christina M. Verhagen, Ji-In Jung, Sonia M. Tikoo, Axel Wittmann, David A. Kring, Stefanie Brachfeld, Laying Wu, Dale H. Burns, Sean P. S. Gulick

“Image” files include:

Back scattered electron images (tiff, bmp, pdf) produced by scanning electron microscopy for figures 3, 5, 6 and 8 in the main manuscript. Images are labeled with the figure number and letter which corresponds to the main figure (e.g., Fig. 3a is the image shown in Figure 3-part a).

“EDS” includes raw files (psmsa and xlsx) from energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy which were used to produce the spectral analysis shown in figures 4, 5 and 7. Data files are labeled with the figure number and letter which corresponds to the main figure (e.g., Fig. 4a is the data used to produce the spectra shown in Figure 4-part a).

“WDS” file includes an xlsx table showing the wavelength dispersive spectroscopy generated elemental abundances for the Fe-sulfides shown in Figure 8b-d (same as in main text).
