Description
C. pronubana is a native species in Europe. It naturally occurs in the south of the continent, in the Mediterranean basin. Increased trade in plant material is causing the pest to be swamped with plant cuttings and cut flowers. Climate change also creates the possibility of natural range expansion or establishment in areas that previously did not allow the species to thrive. In addition, C. pronubana can thrive in cover crops. The species is included in the European Union Directive 74/647/EEC of December 9, 1974 "On control of carnation leaf-rollers".
