Description

Protophthiracarus varians (Jacot, 1933)

Distribution: Southern Nearctic, Neotropical.

Records in Ecuador: Esmeraldas (at road E10, 40 km SE from San Lorenzo city).

Habitat: Natural ecosystem, leaf litter mixed with moss from the deciduous forest.
