Pseudoscymnus nepalicus Miyatake, 1985: 7 (type locality: Swinket, Nepal).— Canepari 1997: 8; Poorani 2002: 351; Kovář 2007: 582.

Diagnosis. This species is similar to S. flavostictus sp. nov. in structures of the male genitalia, but can be distinguished from the later by its elytra black with yellowish brown apex, and abdominal postcoxal lines recurved toward the base of ventrite (Figs 53a–b, 53d). In S. flavostictus, elytra are black with two yellow spots and abdominal postcoxal lines are not recurved toward the base of ventrite (Figs 49a–b, 49d).

Description. TL: 1.49–2.11 mm, TW: 1.14–1.57 mm, TH: 0.69–0.94 mm.

Body oval, moderately convex, surfaces covered with short pubescence (Figs 53a–c). Head black with antennae and mouthparts yellow, with interocular distance slightly greater than eye width in frontal view. Pronotum black with anterior margin narrowly yellowish brown. Scutellar shield black. Elytra black with yellowish brown apices. Ventral surfaces black. Legs yellow. Abdominal postcoxal lines almost complete (Fig. 53d).

Male genitalia: Penis slender, penis capsule with long inner arm but without outer one, apex of penis pointed (Fig. 53e). Penis guide apically hook-shaped in lateral view; parameres about 1/5 as long as penis guide, with a tuft of long setae at apex; penis guide widest at base in ventral view, tapering towards blunt apex (Figs 53f–g).

Female genitalia: Coxites shortened; styli absent; spermatheca worm-like, with basal ramus and nodulus.

Remarks. This species is recorded from China for the first time. The specimens perfectly match the descriptions and illustrations of Miyatake (1985).
