The Impact of Lean Management Practices on Sustainable Performance of Handicraft Enterprises in Vietnam

Although the taste for handicrafts is increasing, Vietnamese handicraft enterprises still face many difficulties in improving sustainable efficiency. In this context, the implementation of lean management has become one of the best solutions for enterprises. However, Vietnamese handicraft enterprises have usually to consider financial sources to implement lean management because of their small scale and many businesses do not dare to take risks. This study was conducted to empirically examine the effect of LMP on sustainable performance of handicraft enterprises in Vietnam. By analyzing data obtained from 322 handicraft enterprises in Vietnam, the positive effect of lean management practices on sustainable performance was found. lean management not only directly improves sustainable performance, but also helps Vietnamese handicraft enterprises improve their ability to innovate products, innovate processes and implement CSR. This also entails further increasing the benefits of lean management practices. Finally, some policy suggestions have been made to improve the sustainable performance of handicraft enterprises in Vietnam through the implementation of lean management.
