TYPE SPECIES: Phyllostoma albomaculatum Gundlach, 1861 (= Arctibeus falcatus Gray, 1839).

COMMENTS: Included in Stenoderma by Varona (1974:24), Simpson (1945:58), and SilvaTaboada (1979:199); but see Jones and Carter (1976:28) and Corbet and Hill (1980:60).
