Chrotomys Thomas 1895

Description

Chrotomys Thomas, 1895. Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 6, 16: 161.

TYPE SPECIES: Chrotomys whiteheadi Thomas, 1895.

COMMENTS: A Philippine Old Endemic most closely related to Celaenomys, and unrelated to shrew rats and shrew mice endemic to Australia and New Guinea (Musser and Heaney, 1992). Actual distribution in archipelago and number of species in genus still unknown.
