MAP Position Paper (Sweden) - Digitalisation in rural areas

The paper focuses on the key development needs and existing policy interventions to better connect rural areas and rural populations with the digital society in Sweden. Among the sub-themes addressed in the paper are the potential of digital services and the problem of uneven access to a fast broadband connection, which can increase digital exclusion, especially when the digital transformation will speed up. In this paper, the Swedish MAP presents digital initiatives that already exist in the region that need to be examined to see how and where they can be scaled up to more villages.
