The IGS Infrastructure: Addressing the shifting user needs
Description
To be able to address the shifting user needs of new users, the IGS infrastructure needs to undertake a modernisation process. This includes the enhancement of the tracking network with a strong focus on multi-GNSS and real-time capabilities. Furthermore, it is intended to build network resilience by supporting station operators from underrepresented regions and expanding capacity development resources.
It is necessary to improve the resilience of the IT infrastructure by advocating the importance of information security. Additionally, the IGS infrastructure is planning to explore modern standards, data storage and access methodologies to improve the FAIRness of the IGS data and metadata.
