TYPE LOCALITY: Panama, Darien, Santa Cruz de Cana, upper Rio Tuyra, 2000 ft. (610 m).
DISTRIBUTION: Panama; perhaps N.W. Colombia.
COMMENT: Subgenus Aporodon; see Hooper, 1952, Misc. Publ. Mus. Zool. Univ. Mich., 77:1 -255.
