TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Minas Gerais, Lagoa Santa.

DISTRIBUTION: Forested areas of Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil (except the semiarid N. E.); E. Peru; Ecuador; Colombia; Venezuela; Guyana; French Guiana; Surinam; Panama.

PROTECTED STATUS: CITES - Appendix I.
