Proechimys warreni Thomas, 1905. Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 7, 16:312 -313.

TYPE LOCALITY: Guyana, 80 mi. (129 km) up the Demerara River, Comackka.

DISTRIBUTION: Guyana; Surinam; exact limits not known.

COMMENT: Considered a distinct species by Husson, 1978:436; considered a subspecies of guyannensis by Cabrera, 1961: 520.
