Description
Jaculus lichtensteini (Vinogradov, 1927). Z. Saugetierk., 2:92.
TYPE LOCALITY: U.S. S. R., Turkmenia, vicinity of Merv.
DISTRIBUTION: Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and S.W. Turkestan from Caspian Sea to Aral Sea; south of Lake Balkhash (U.S. S.R.).
COMMENT: Formerly included in Eremodipus; see Prakash and Ghosh, 1975, Rodents in Desert Environments, 28:520. Gromov and Baranova, 1981:127, considered Eremodipus a distinct genus.
