Description
Pteromys volans (Linnaeus, 1758). Syst. Nat., 10th ed., 1:64.
TYPE LOCALITY: Sweden, middle part.
DISTRIBUTION: Palearctic taiga, from Scandinavia east to Chukotka; south to E. Baltic, S. Ural Mtns., Altai Mtns., Mongolia, N. China, Korea, Sakhalin Isl. (U.S. S. R.), and Hokkaido (Japan); perhaps mountains of W. China.
