Description
Lariscus insignis (F. Cuvier, 1821). In E. Geoffrey St. Hilaire and F. Cuvier, Hist. Nat. Mamm., 2:2.
TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Sumatra, “lowlands”.
DISTRIBUTION: Malay Peninsula; Sumatra; Java; Borneo; adjacent Isis.
COMMENT: Includes niobe and obscurus from the Mentawi Isis.; see Chasen, 1940:145- 146. Corbet and Hill, 1980:133, listed niobe as a distinct species, without comment; LRH considers niobe a distinct species.
ISIS NUMBER: 5301410002015002001 as L. insignis.

5301410002015004001 as L. obscurus.
