Description
Organic makeup products can, in addition to correcting skin imperfections, help treat some skin pathologies such as acne due to the intrinsic biological properties of natural products. Thus, this work aimed to develop a multifunctional organic facial concealer for the adjuvant treatment of acne, based on combinations of Amazonian natural products. Extracts with anti-inflammatory activity from the species bank of the Phytochemistry and Semisynthesis Laboratory of the Federal University of Amazonas were evaluated for their antioxidant, cytotoxicity, antibacterial properties against Propionibacterium acnes, and protection against solar radiation. The extracts B1, B2, and TC3E were chosen to be incorporated into an organic cosmetic concealer base, giving rise to four solid and four semi-solid formulations, which allowed different shades of makeup to be obtained. The organoleptic characteristics remained constant over 10 days, and the pH showed slight changes. However, it must be considered that no pH corrector has been added to the formulation and, therefore, the formulations can still be improved in this respect. Thus, it was demonstrated that the Amazonian species studied can become active in formulations for the adjuvant treatment of acne, making promising the continuity of this research for the improvement of the anti-acne concealer prototype developed.
