syllables is a repository containing two Perl scripts:

• syllables - divides words into syllables and adds hyphenation. It was created to speed up the process of text underlying in music scores. The script provides two forms of output: text (default, it can be copied and pasted to Finale or MuseScore) or Humdrum **text spines (option -h, --humdrum). Version 1.0 of the software supports Polish (-p, --polish) and Latin (-l, --latin).
• assign-syllables - underlay multiple verses of lyrics in the Humdrum file according to the pattern encoded in the original file.
